The state of the world is a reflection of the condition of the hearts of men. Because we have dominion over the earth, it’s up to us to change it. But we can’t do this in our own intellect and strength. We must be led by the spirit of God from our hearts. God has given believers a new heart that knows how to hear him and allow his kingdom to manifest into this dimension. We want to experience kingdom living but often times it seems like a mystery.

The mystery of the kingdom is this… The condition of your heart determines the degree OF the kingdom you’ll experience in this life. Jesus teaches this in Mark 4 and Matthew 13.

Then he says the kingdom works like this…

This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come. Mark 4:26-29

The kingdom of God is not imposed onto this world through carnal systems. The kingdom of God grows into or increases through the hearts of his family, those whom in which he dwells.

Many of us then become excited and set out to “take this world for God.” We seek revival, we seek to take over the 7 mountains of culture (media, politics, sports, etc…). As if we can legislate righteousness or transform a carnal world through using its own systems.

We will not see the kingdom of God increased in this world by taking over worldly systems of culture, finance and government. The way the kingdom of God is increased on this planet is through the hearts of his children following him and displaying his love and power. The kingdom of God is increased as we use God’s logic, his ways of thinking and revolutionize what it means to be human.

I think we can and should be Godly in whatever arena of life and culture we find ourselves in but those worldly systems will not be the avenue through which God’s people will reign in this life. We will reign in life as we yield to his righteousness, peace and joy from the heart.

I don’t believe God wants us to do a better job at managing culture. I believe he wants us to live and move in him and him alone. I believe our Heavenly Father is seeking to guide us daily in the context of a family, not in the context of a world’s system that can only manage behavior at best.

I pray you develop a sensitive heart toward God and his influence and walk as his child, fully yielded to your new creation identity.
